Cultivating Integral Awareness in the
Classroom
Dr. Kyle Good
presented on the topic "Cultivating Integral Awareness in the
Classroom" at the Integral Education: Exploring
the Leading Edge of Educational Theory and Practice Conference
at the Whidbey Institute, Whidbey Island, WA. This
conference was hosted by "Next Step Integral."
This
session explored ways in which to deal with challenging
situations in the classroom and hold a larger perspective where
we focus on what is possible, thus cultivating integral
awareness.
We discovered ways in which we can learn how to
think and perceive differently. We looked at how integral
education can provide the capacity for thinking and perceiving
anew.
Within this context, we also investigated ways in which to
create a more "holistic" learning environment with efficient use
of space and resources, space design that is conducive to
inquiry learning, and with every single aspect serving some form
of opportunity for increasing integral awareness in the
classroom.
