Signs Your Child or Adolescent May Need
Professional Help
If you see any of
the following behaviors, your child or teenager may need psychotherapy.
In some cases,
professional help may be needed sooner than later.
Not one "sign" means
your child needs professional help; however, several signs may wave a red
flag. The longer you wait, the more severe
your child's issues might become.
These are a Few Signs that Your Child or Teenager May Need
Counseling:
Struggling with Basic Rules and Expectations |
Verbally Abusive |
Experimenting with Drugs / Alcohol |
Easily Agitated |
Behaving Secretively |
Acting Depressed
|
Telling Lies / Dishonesty |
Shop-lifting |

Parent
Consultations
During our Parent Consultation meetings,
I work directly with you to understand your concerns
in the context of your child and family. As I work individually with your
child, I pair your knowledge of your child and family
with my expertise in child and adolescent development and family dynamics.
Together, we work to understand
what your child's behavior may be telling
us about what he or she is struggling
with. Once understood, the intensity of the behavior can be turned down
and more positive modes of expression developed.
When even one person in the family begins to
think and/or act differently, the rest of
the family tends to respond. We will
think about this together as we manage the changes.
I am confident
that, together, we can help your child work through this difficult time.
